Sohaila Lindheim is an award winning screenwriter, director and filmmaker from Limerick, Ireland. Self-taught in all areas, her thirst for filmmaking began in 2017 when her first short script ‘Bluebell’ was shortlisted by Screen Ireland’s ‘Short Stories’ competition.

Since then she has consistently been working in film; writing, directing and producing. Her work has earned her the recent titles‘Best Director’ in the Monthly Film Festival (2023), ‘Best Director’ in the New Jersey Film Awards (2022), ‘Best Female Filmmaker’ at Indie Short Fest (2022).

Sohaila is also an experienced editor and is the owner and operator of a Blackmagic 4k cinema camera. She is inspired by Christopher Nolan & Quentin Tarantino’s style of writing and the visual boldness of David Lynch and Darren Aronofsky.

She was selected to direct the first Irish language film as part of the Engine Shorts funding scheme ‘Tabhair Aire Do na HÉin’ (Remember To Feed The Birds) is currently in the 2024 film festival circuit.

Sohaila is also writing the TV series ‘Institute:Red Heron’, the feature scripts‘Soothsayer’ and ‘The Fetishist’. She is also in pre production for her fifth short ‘Jupiter’ which will be filmed in L.A in April 2024.
